Emile LahoudEmile Lahoud's face is a study in optimism and joy, but the new Lebanese president must deal with the structural complexities built into his country's political system. That is why I gave him a face imprinted with the whorls of his predecessors' thumbprints. The decisions they have made, for better or worse, are traces which he must decipher in an attempt to make his own mark.
