Around the galleries
Among the 65 artists exhibiting at Wikalet Al-Ghoury, Ali Dessouqi depicts the Ramadan fanous, while Ibrahim El-Azhari invokes the beauty and splendours of Islamic architecture. Contributions by Kamal Yaknour, Ahmed Gad, Hassan Ghoniem and Samir El-Guindi, all of which focus on different aspects of the Holy Month, are also outstanding.
In the Cairo Atelier, Sayed El-Qammash exhibits his latest paintings on glass which constitute a clear departure from his earlier surrealistic style, mixing starkly contrasting colours with close attention to form.
