leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), has been snatched in an undercover operation and is now in Turkey where he will face trial for terrorism.Ocalan was taking shelter in the Greek Embassy building in Kenya when he was apparently tricked and abducted by Turkey. Both Greek and Kenyan officials deny any responsibility. Turkish officials, on the other hand, declined to give details on how Ocalan was captured.
Kurdish protests erupted Monday night as soon as Greece announced that Ocalan was in the hands of the Kenyan authorities. Protesters stormed Greek and Kenyan embassies across Europe in a massive and sometimes violent show of support for the outlawed Kurdish separatist leader.
