At the Basma Hotel in Aswan, 15 granite pieces boarded side by side with their sculptors, enjoying all the benefits of a four-star hotel for two months. And well they might, for this year the International Sculpture Symposium, headed by the mercurial Adam Henein, was even more successful than in previous years, and came to a beautiful close when Salah Mar'i decided to hold the closing ceremony in the magical village of Baharif, eight kilometres away from the city.
