Perhaps the scene that brought the horror of Kosovo home to me most poignantly was that of two children fighting over scraps of garbage. We tend to think of Europe as the land of peace and plenty, but this war has served as a reminder of other victims and past suffering, there and elsewhere. How long can these refugees hold out?
