Sabri Nashed
The names of the prize winners of the Third Latkia Biennale, which remains open until the end of August, were announced last Thursday. For painting, the bronze award was given to two recipients, Taha Al-Sabban from Saudi Arabia and Georges Bassel from Lebanon. The silver award was given to Ahmed Elias from Syria and the gold award to Mahmoud Shaltout, also from Syria. As for the biennale grand prix, it was awarded to Ahmed Al-Malah, again from Syria.
In the sculpture section the prizes were as follows: the bronze award was given to Awad Al-Qassas from Kuwait, the silver was awarded to Sabri Nashed from Egypt and the gold to Aktham Abdel-Hamid from Syria.
As for engravings, Mohamed Abu Zariq from Syria received the bronze award, Abdel-Kerim Farag from Syria received the silver while the gold went to Mustafa Al-Hallag from Palestine.Reviewed by Nagwa El-Ashri
