Yehya Abdel-Khaliq's medal
The World Food Organisation has arranged an exhibition in Cairo, with a large group of artists from all over the world participating, the most interesting among them being Yehya Abdel-Khaliq, an Egyptian artist based in Italy. Abdel-Khaliq, who, among other things, won the competition for designing a medal to commemorate 50 years since the establishment of the Italian republic, recently designed a medal to celebrate the third millennium, presented to the Pope in a gesture of religious tolerance and spirituality.
At Kahn Al-Maghrabi Gallery in Zamalek, Lebanese artist Najah Taher exhibits watercolours characterised by an immediate transparency and direct emotional appeal.
