THE DOROUB Gallery in Garden City hosts a joint exhibition of artists Mohamed Mandour and Galal El-Husseinys latest creations. Mandours pottery has found its way from the simple workshops of Fakhariya to the most sophisticated exhibition spaces. With every exhibition, though, he takes the art of pottery a step further, and the present case is no exception. El-Husseinys trademark watercolours, too, display a further development in the artists career. His countryside scenes now emerge in a more immediate way. Though the figures painted are at rest, for example, they reveal a great deal of dynamic energy in the way they are rendered. Altogether the exhibition offers the gallery goer a rich and rewarding experience.
