Girgis Lotfi
The Picasso Gallery in Zamalek has hosted a remarkable collective exhibition entitled "Ramadan in the third millennium", whose most exciting feature is the number of young artists included, representing a broad range of artistic orientations and painting styles that nonetheless feed into the theme of the Holy Month and the significance of its coinciding with the beginning of the third millennium and a new age.
Among the exhibition's more remarkable achievements is the work of artist Girgis Lotfi, whose expressionist depictions of ancient Egyptian heritage pays an obliquely refreshing tribute to the historic Ramadan during which an event like Jean-Michel Jarre's Twelve Dreams of the Sun took place.
