Ihab Shakir
AT THE Khan Al-Maghrabi Gallery on Mansour Street in Zamalek, veteran painter and journalist Ihab Shakir exhibits new water colours and pastels. Since he retired from his job at Rose Al-Youssef to devote himself full time to painting, Ihab Shakir has already had six exhibitions. This, the seventh, comes as a satisfying addition. The simplistically rendered female figures with which these paintings are filled reflect Shakir's journalistic style of draughtsmanship, though here shapes and colours are allowed to acquire symbolic, mythical dimensions.
