AS THE Arab foreign ministers met in Beirut to show their solidarity with Lebanon in its resistance to the Israeli occupation, Egyptian cartoonists offered their support in their own way. Dozens of them, among them such leading figures as Mustafa Hussein, George Bahgory and Gom'a Farahat, displayed drawings on related subjects on the fence that surrounds the grounds of the Arab League.

In 1997, artists brought their drawings to the Arab League building to express their solidarity with the cause of Arab rights in Jerusalem.
