Around the galleries
The Gamila Gallery in Maadi has recently offered art lovers the rare opportunity to contemplate oil painting and bronze sculpture in one and the same space. The latest works of sculptor Mahmoud Shukri and painter David H White further strike a contrary, stimulating chord, embodying intercultural interaction at its visual best.
At the Arabesque Gallery downtown, on the other hand, painter Mohamed Ghanem exhibits his latest series of paintings on the theme of the Sea Breeze -- a subtle, technically impressive feat of the artistic imagination in contact with life.
