Lecture
On 24 June the Egyptian Cultural Club (ECC) will present a lecture titled "The Impact of the Ancient Egyptian Language on World Languages." The Ancient Egyptian language went through four stages: hieroglyphics, demotic, hieratic and coptic and ultimately affected the Phoenician, Syrian and Hebrew languages. Ramy Samir will tackle this crucial influence in his lecture. Interestingly enough, Ancient Egyptian scripts referred to their language as "Egypt tongue", "Egypt mouth" and "talks of Egypt's people."
Lectures are from 7.00 to 9.00pm
