Transportation
Hurghada is located 370km from Cairo, 270km from Luxor and 590km from Alexandria.Travel by road:
The trip by road will take about five hours. If you are travelling by car, take the Suez road passing by Ain Al-Sukhna, Za'farana, and Ras Ghareb. Sahari Inn restaurant and motel in Za'farana is the first place that you can sit down at to have some coffee tea or even a meal.
If you are travelling by bus, there is the Super Jet with service from Cairo to Hurghada at 7.30am, 8.00am, 12 noon, 2.00pm and 11.00pm. Tickets: LE47 for trips beginning before 5.00pm; LE50 for later trips.
Travel by air:
Cairo-Hurghada
Daily service from Cairo to Hurghada ranges between two and five flights. For details contact EgyptAir at 682-3271, 290-4528 and 347-5193. Round trip tickets are LE279 for Egyptians; LE915 for foreigners.
Alexandria-Hurghada
Service on Mondays and Fridays. Round trip tickets LE347 for Egyptians; $333 for foreigners.
Luxor-Hurghada
No fixed schedule. Round trip tickets LE125 for Egyptians; $108 for foreigners.
Travel by sea
Service between Hurghada and Sharm Al-Sheikh in south Sinai. Trips takes about 6 hours and cost approximately $30 for a one-way ticket. Service from Sharm Al-Sheikh to Hurghada is available on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays while service from Hurghada to Sharm Al-Sheikh takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
