PRESIDENT Hosni Mubarak gave the go-ahead signal on Tuesday, from the Hammam ground station west of Alexandria, to Egypt's second satellite, Nilesat 102, to start broadcasting. The satellite was launched successfully on 17 August from French Guyana. Using the digital technology, the satellite carries television channels and radio broadcasts and, for the first time, offers Internet services as well.
