PRESIDENT Hosni Mubarak paid a visit last Friday to the Nasser Medical Institute in Cairo's northern Shubra district where nine Palestinians are receiving treatment after sustaining injuries in the clashes that took place in Jerusalem, West Bank and Gaza. Eight adults and one 11-year-old boy were flown in from Gaza the previous day.

Mubarak kissed Walid Bahloul, the child, and assured him that he will recover and go back home soon.
Bahloul participated in a demonstration that took him to Rafah along the Egyptian-Israeli border. After burning Israeli flags, he was shot when he attempted to raise the Palestinian flag.
The wounded were evacuated by an Egyptian plane, which had carried emergency medical supplies to Gaza hospitals to help them cope with a rapidly rising number of casualties. Palestinian officials estimate that the number has exceeded 3,000. The wounded said that they were sprayed with Israeli bullets and rockets, and that Israeli forces intercepted the ambulances that arrived to evacuate them.
On board the Egyptian plane was Health Minister Ismail Salam and a team of 17 physicians.
