Nowhere but up

The medals just keep coming for Egypt at the Paralympics. The country notched five the first time the Paralympics were held, in Seoul -- one gold, three silver and one bronze. The figure quadrupled in Barcelona in 1992. Egypt's 32-member delegation took seven gold, five silver and eight bronze for 20 medals. And in Atlanta 1996, out of 130 countries, Egypt finished a respectable 23rd with 30 medals, including seven gold. The following list illustrates that, if things go according to plan, Egypt's curve in Sydney will continue to rise.
