Super Zamalek
ZAMALEK overpowered Ahli 29-21 to win the first of three Super League handball championships which were added to this season. Zamalek's win on Sunday, at Cairo Stadium's indoor complex, marked the debut of the triple Super League. Each tournament will be held in a different city to spread the popularity of the game and each tournament will be viewed by the federation as a separate championship. Super League winners may enter regional and continental events.

"We're glad over the victory," Sami Mohamed Ali, Zamalek's head coach, said following the game. "We have more confidence now and we want to win all the championships this season. We are looking forward to the other two super league tournaments and the cup as well."
Zamalek's win was the second against Ahli in less than two weeks. Last month, Zamalek defeated the defending champions to win the traditional league title. The victory enabled Zamalek to qualify for the Arab clubs championship in Saudi Arabia next month
