Le Caire au printemps
During the month of May Cairo will be twinned with Paris and will host the Les Français aiment le Caire festival which will comprise exhibitions -- mostly photographic --on, and lectures about, the city of Cairo, as well as concerts and book launches -- to be held in diverse venues and areas of the city, many of which have been undergoing restoration in recent years: the Al-Fustat area, the oldest part of the city, to medieval Cairo with its various beits (houses), to Khedival-to-1940s Downtown Cairo... to spaces (including underground metro stations) constructed in the past decades. --read on--

GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE: At the Hanager Arts Centre, Opera House Grounds, an exhibition of oil paintings, water colours and drawings by the Swiss artist and Egyptian resident Margo Veillon opened yesterday, and will continue until 10 May. --read on--
