DAYS OF ANGER In Cairo, as throughout the Arab world, people came together to commemorate the Nakbah, the founding of the state of Israel on 15 May 1948, at the cost of the dispossessing the Palestinians of their nation and land. Gathered before the Arab League headquarters in Cairo's Tahrir Square, demonstrators asserted, in the words of Radwa Ashour, a university professor, their determination "to do whatever it takes to stand up to Israel."
