Ahmed Maher has a calm and peaceful demeanour; as the new foreign minister in turbulent times for Egypt and the region, one hopes that he has the composure to match. As Amr Moussa's successor to this difficult post, he will surely prove his mettle -- and he may have the opportunity to do so soon.
