Crowned with laurels of victory, Tony Blair waves to his people, pouting complacently, in much the same manner as Margaret Thatcher did in her day. Indeed, he appears to have become more conservative than the Tories, faithfully following in the Thatcherite tradition of proudly posing as Washington's "poodle".
