The celebrations mark the 31st anniversary of the deployment of anti-aircraft missiles, better known as the "missile wall," along the western bank of the Suez Canal three years before the 1973 war.
In the exercise, a number of surface-to-air missile batteries and anti-aircraft artillery units scored accurate hits, reflecting the precision of all air defence units taking part. The Hawk, Crotale and Chapparal missile batteries, the Egyptian missile system Amoun and other advanced air defence weapons recently acquired by the armed forces were used.
