A rowing success

PHYSICAL strength being the root of good performance, the MENA Regional Leadership Council (RLC) Committees discussed last week the importance of spreading accessible, up-to-date medical care to athletes around the Arab world -- an idea proposed by Magda Moussa, secretary-general of the RLC. The increase in the number of sports practiced by mentally disabled athletes, and their participation in events such as the Francophone, Mediterranean and African Games, were also discussed.Media being key to the enhancement of disabled sports' popularity, Ali Al- Shawahin, head of the media committee, recognised the importance of honouring the Arab and Egyptian media people who helped shed light on such events -- a move which gave a push to the movement of Special Olympics in the MENA region.
