Supporting success

In a gesture of appreciation and support, Mrs Suzanne Mubarak met on Sunday, for the first time ever, with this year's top-scoring graduates of the thanawiyya amma (secondary school certificate) and technical institutes at the presidential headquarters.

Mrs Mubarak stressed the importance of the role of outstanding youths in advancing Egypt, noting that towards supporting such youths, President Hosni Mubarak is laying the foundations in the various fields of development that aim at advancing the nation and providing youths with education and job opportunities.

Reviewing the achievements of the past 20 years in preparing Egyptians to be more in tune with the information age, Mrs Mubarak said top students should consider the national interest and be guided by their conscience as they take on the responsibility of strengthening the nation.

Mrs Mubarak promised the graduates she would follow up on their progress during their university studies and would meet with the top-ranking ones once again when they graduate from university.
