UNDER THE WIRE: While other children spend the hottest months of the year in amusement parks and on the beach, Palestinian boys in the West Bank village of Beita, near Nablus, attend a summer camp of a different sort. Tanks re-occupying Jenin are almost within earshot as the Israeli campaign of destruction and murder continues. Some 120 children took part in this 10-day programme organised by Fatah, learning the skills they hope will allow them to survive in life: not computer science, white-water rafting or drawing, but shooting and guerrilla warfare techniques.
