Obituary
Sarah Bentley
1944-2001
It is with the deepest sadness that we inform the Cairo community of the death of Mrs Sarah Bentley, killed in an accident in Chicago, Illinois, on Friday, 17 August. She was 57.
Sarah, born on 2 April 1944, was a long time resident of Cairo. During most of her time in Cairo she served as registrar at the Cairo American College. Her husband, John Bentley, was a lawyer and former president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.
Sarah is survived by her husband John, sons John Bentley IV and Scott Bentley, mother Helen Greenlee and brother David Greenlee. She had many friends in Egypt and will be missed by all of them.
Sarah was laid to rest following a memorial service at the Old Christ Church on Route 12 between Bethel and Randolph, Vermont, on Saturday, 25 August. Condolences may be sent to Helen Greenlee; 1962 Ducker Road; South Royalton, VT 05068. A memorial will be held in Cairo at a later date.
