Christmas ginger biscuits

Ingredients:

1 1/3 cups plain flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup golden syrup
3/4tsp bicarbonate of soda
1tsp ground cinnamon
1tbsp ground ginger
1/4tsp ground cloves
90gms butter

Method:

Combine butter, sugar and golden syrup in pan. Stir over heat until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Stand until mixture feels warm to the touch. Roll two level teaspoons of mixture into balls. Place on greased oven trays, about 3cm apart, and flatten slightly. Bake in moderate oven about 12mn or until golden browned. Loosen biscuits. Cool on trays. Makes about 35 biscuits.
