My, how nice it must be to be Jiang Zemin. China is full of boundless optimism in an era of bleak prospects, and his face has expanded accordingly, becoming a vast square with little room for eyes or a nose. Only his wide smile remains, and grows ever wider to welcome President Hosni Mubarak.
