WORKS BY Abdel-Hadi El-Gazzar, pictured here at work in his studio, are showcased in the exhibition Art and the Revolution, which opened on Tuesday at the Palace of Art in the Opera House grounds on Tuesday.
The show, which runs for 10 days, was conceived within the framework of celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the July Revolution, and includes 300 items from a wide selection of artists including Gamal El-Seggini, Tahiya Halim, Ragheb Ayyad, Bikar, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Farghali Abdel-Hafiz, Abdel-Rahman El-Nasshar, Mohsen Shaalan, Mohamed Mustafa, Salah Abdel-Karim, Subhi Girgis, Mohieddin Taher and Kamel Gawish. The majority of exhibits have been drawn from the holdings of the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art. After closing in Cairo the exhibition will tour several cities, beginning with Alexandria. |
