11 June: Following botched IOF assassination attempt of Hamas leader Abdul-Aziz Rantissi, Hamas suicide bomber kills himself and 17 Israelis in Jerusalem.
IOF assassinate Hamas activist Masoud Tito in a missile strike in Gaza, killing five other people in the process.
For the first time ever, PA President Arafat describes latest Jerusalem suicide bombing as a "terrorist attack".
Islamic Jihad fighters fire three Qassam rockets at Israeli town of Sedorot and the northern Gaza Strip but no injuries or damage are reported.
Palestinian fighters open fire at IOF troops in northern Gaza and at IOF posts in southern Gaza but no injuries are reported.
IOF accepts recommendations from Israeli High Court to hold hearings on the removal of settler outposts. (Haaretz.com)
12 June: In third air strike within 24 hours, IOF assassinate Hamas activist Yasser Taha in Gaza. Taha's wife, infant daughter and four other people are also killed while 29 others are wounded. Israeli PM Sharon declares a war "to the bitter end" against armed Palestinian resistance and calls Palestinian leaders "cry babies". He describes PM Abbas as "a chick that hasn't grown its feathers yet". Hamas tells foreign citizens to leave Israel and vows more suicide bombings. US Administration accuses Hamas of being main obstacle to peace.
13 June: One Palestinian is killed and dozens are wounded in IOF assassination attempt in Gaza targeting Palestinian resistance activists that Israel claims fired Qassam rockets on the town of Sedorot.
IOF under cover units assassinate two Islamic Jihad resistance activists in Jenin. Three people are wounded in the attack. IOF raid Jenin and impose a curfew after the body of an Israeli is discovered in the village of Yabed near Jenin.

14 June: Israel and the PA resume high- level security talks after a week which left nearly 60 people dead. US special envoy to the Middle East, John Wolf, arrives in Jerusalem. Israel denies that it is willing to stop military attacks in Gaza for three days to allow Palestinian PM Mahmoud Abbas to hold talks with resistance groups.
15 June: US and
16 June: Representatives of 13 Palestinian groups meet with Egyptian mediators in Gaza but do not yet reach agreement on a cease-fire.
Pressure on Hamas to agree to a truce with Israel intensifies.
Hamas leaders abroad are apparently willing to consider a cease-fire provided that Israel promises to stop assassinations and military invasions and strikes.
Sharon tells Knesset he would continue targeting Hamas and that his government would continue pursuing activists "in every place and at every time until victory".
IOF arrest 10 Palestinians in Qalqilya, Nablus and Hebron. Australia plans to freeze assets of Islamic charity alleged to have ties to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (Reuters, Haaretz.com)
17 June: Palestinian PM Mahmoud Abbas meets US envoy John Wolf.
Palestinian resistance groups say their willingness to stop resistance attacks against Israelis is conditional to Israel halting assassination attempts, withdrawing from the territories the IOF has reoccupied since September 2000 and releasing Palestinian prisoners.
PA President Yasser Arafat calls Suha Barghouti and tells her that her husband, jailed Palestinian legislator Marwan Barghouti would be released from Israeli prison in coming days. Israeli officials refused to comment on the matter.
