Moore in town
In preparation for the official launch on the 14 October of the British Council's extensively refurbished premises in Cairo more than 40 art works from the Council's extensive central collection are now on display including -- courtesy of the Henry Moore Foundation -- the first major Moore sculpture to be shown in Cairo.
Last week Reclining Figure: Hand, was installed in the garden of the Council, itself extensively redesigned by garden designer Dan Patterson. Indeed, much of the new collection of artworks takes the garden as its theme, and includes, among others, works by Edward Burra, another major British artist of the 20th century making his debut in Egypt
