MAMDOUH Mohieddin Mar'ie was sworn in by President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday as the new head of the Supreme Constitutional Court. Mohieddin succeeds the late Fathi Naguib. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Justice Farouk Seif El-Nasr, and followed by a brief meeting between Mubarak, Seif El-Nasr and Mar'ie.
Mar'ie, 65, previously held the post of head of the Cairo Court of Appeal.
Mubarak honoured Naguib's name on the same day by presenting his son Khaled with the Sash of the Nile, in recognition of his career in the judicial realm. Naguib died on 8 August, at the age of 65.
