The attack on Syria

Washington's position on Syria is certainly strange: the Israeli army attacks Syria and what do Americans do? They block the UN Security Council resolution to denounce this type of military aggression. The US Congress is even planning a resolution sanctioning punitive action against Syria, almost as if Syria is the party which needs to be questioned.
This policy is an extension of the situation in Iraq: Washington, it seems, has assumed the right to attack any state which may constitute a threat to US security. Israel has asserted there are Islamic Jihad training camps on Syrian soil, in the same way that Washington claimed that Iraq is in possession of weapons of mass destruction. This latter allegation has yet to be proven. And the same goes for the Israeli claim: no effort was made to establish whether or not these training camps exist; as long as you possess the means to attack a weaker country, you may do so without the need to act in accordance with international conventions or within the legal strictures governing the international community.
A consequence of these barbarian tendencies is that the Arab world no longer considers Washington a neutral mediator in the Arab-Israeli conflict. Rather, it appears as though Israel and Washington are simply upholding different sections of the same unjust policy.
