Khattab is the secretary- general of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood. She is a veteran diplomat who served as an ambassador of Egypt to the Slovak Republic, the Republic of South Africa and Australia. Khattab was awarded the Order of Good Hope from the republic of South Africa.
