Horoscopes:
Lamb to the slaughter
By
Imhotep
It is prophetic, perhaps, that during Eid El- Adha -- traditionally celebrated with the ritual sacrifice of animals -- that Imhotep should be foretelling the future of Rams and Bulls. Like a lamb to the slaughter, Arians and Taureans in particular will be led astray during the week of festivities. Rest assured, however, you are dear Arians and Taureans, sturdy creatures all things considered.
People born under the cardinal Fire sign of Aries (2 Mar-2 Apr) will make the grade in the unforgiving world of business during the Feast of the Sacrifice even though they are not generally the best qualified people to clinch a deal. Arians are Greeks, rather than Romans. In other words, they are clever at conjuring up interesting ideas but their creative energies stop short of following their ideas through. Straightforward Arians are well-advised to allow more shrewd and enterprising people to negotiate and close the deals.
This February, Imhotep foresees a chance for Arians to sell their big ideas to other people who are more capable of making the Arian dreams come true.
It's a golden opportunity, so grab it my dear Rams. And, you might make some money out of it, even though Imhotep is fully aware that money matters little to the fiery Rams who count among the least materialistic of people. Omar Sharif is a typical Ram, he made a lot of money staring in movies overseas, but he is a big spender and doesn't care how he disposes of his money.
These are not the best of times for Rams. Arians are predictably not quite satisfied with their lot. And, there is more than a chance that Arians will lose their cool and with tempers flaring, the Rams might earn the unnecessary enmity of one or two colleagues at work. This February, Arians would have to eat their impulsive words, and quickly make amends.
People born under the fixed Earth sign of Taurus (22 Apr-22 May) are destined to live a stressed-out life of leisure in the first two weeks of February.
Introspective Taureans fully understand that the unexamined life is not worth living. The Bulls enjoy a relaxed pace of living, and Taureans will have ample opportunity to put their feet up and reflect on their lives this February.
The contemplative mood of Taureans will, however, soon translate into bold action, because the Earth-bound Taureans are practical people. After scrutinising the minutiae of their lives, Taureans will act fast to remedy the situation where the need so dictates.
Most Taureans have not been happy with the way their lives are heading. And in February they shall take bold steps to right all the wrongs.
For Taureans, beefing up protection against psychosomatic illnesses, is one step to improve the quality of their lives. The Bulls can be hopeless hypochondriacs, especially when the chips are down. But, whether it is Cher, Shirley MacLaine or Queen Elisabeth II, Taurean women are resourceful creatures and Imhotep predicts that they will feel a heavy weight slip off their shoulders towards the middle of February.
People born under the mutable Air sign of Gemini (23 May-2 Jun) do not particularly relish the thought of being strapped to a desk 10 hours a day, but they are well-adapted to the modern, fast-changing job world of today. Geminians quite enjoy picking up their laptops and they get all excited about the thought of jumping around town, or better still the globe, on interesting assignments.
The Twins have none of the hang-ups about big job titles, and as long as they move they do not need to prove to anyone that they exist.
Geminians, however, might not be as successful as Taureans in accurately accessing changes and developments in their lives. This February, they shall be forced to focus on the skills that keep a busy life up and running. Worse, they might run into financial difficulties by the end of the month and early March. Don't look around for a sympathetic and understanding face.
Geminians invariably give sexual matters their due. And, before they face the financial crunch, they will enjoy a memorable romantic escapade that could well launch a busy, brilliant season of impassioned exploits.
The Twins simply cannot live a reclusive existence. They lead hectic, action-filled lives -- just think of Clint Eastwood or Joan Collins, two typical Geminians. But, the Twins will be full of nervous energy in February -- each twin pulling in the opposite direction. Also beware, dear Geminians, of emotional fatigue when your passion gets reckless.
