New noozz

A NEW site offering business and investment information on emerging markets was launched this week. The site, www.noozz.com, headquartered in the United Kingdom, will provide news, analysis, data and forecasts of political, financial, industrial and market developments. Egypt is the first country to be featured on the site. News on the site will be sourced from a variety of agencies, including Reuters and The Economist Intelligence Unit, in addition to Noozz's own journalists and business information providers. The site also includes a section of news, research and editorial content in Arabic. Sites for other Arab countries will soon be launched, while sites for China and India are in preparation.

New technology

Two weeks ago, for the first time in the Middle East, IBM released in Egypt "eServer i5" -- new and highly efficient technology for medium sized businesses, Nader Habib reports. This new server is a part of a $500 million programme that provides such businesses with flexibility and cost benefits.

Amr Talaat, manager of sales and distribution at IBM Egypt, indicates that iSeries servers have been sold to 320 clients, representing 17 per cent of the Egyptian market.
