EGYPT IN BUDAPEST: Having moved to the US in the early 1960s Magdy Hanna went to Citibank to open an account and to his surprise received a free camera. It was little more than a box with a hole and a shutter but it marked the beginning of a career that has so far included 41 solo exhibitions, in Egypt, Kenya, France and the US among other countries. For the past week he has been exhibiting in Budapest, Hungary, at Laurdy Galeria, showing landscape and architectural images alongside photographs such as the one above.
