Holiday FAQs
Q: My name is Tricia and I am coming to Cairo to visit my sister who lives in Maadi. How can I find out about charter flight services from Cairo to Taba or Nuweiba, and/or to Farafra? There are three adults and four children aged 13, 10, seven and three in our group. Bus travel will be difficult with the children. What can we expect as a fair cost, and who can we contact to make the reservation? Thanks in advance for your time in assisting us.

A: Unfortunately, there are no charter flight services from Cairo to Taba or to Nuweiba or Farafra. EgyptAir stopped its charter flight service to Taba airport a year ago. Thus you have only two options for travel to the Taba/Nuweiba area: either you fly from Cairo to Sharm El-Sheikh airport, then take a taxi to Taba or Nuweiba, which will take around two hours; or you take an East Delta bus directly from Cairo to Taba, which is about a four-and-a- half-hour drive. The same applies to Farafra which is only accessible by cars or by buses of the Upper Egypt Company. There are two buses daily from Cairo, one at 7am and the other at 6pm.
