YEARS OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY: Ghassan Kanafany, one of the most gifted Arab fiction writers and intellectuals, also the spokesperson of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is assassinated by the Israelis in Beirut on 8 July, 1972. The hunt down had begun; eight months later three top Palestinian leaders were murdered in their homes in Beirut by a special Israeli unit, led by Ehud Barak.
