A car bomb targetted the motorcade of Lebanon's outgoing Defence Minister Elias Murr on the outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon, Tuesday, 12 July. The explosion killed one person and slightly wounded Murr, son-in-law of Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, and 12 others in the latest in a string of bombings targetting prominent Lebanese figures. The explosion was the first aimed at a pro-Syrian politician, damaging cars and buildings in the vicinity
