For charity's sake
THE GCC polo squad beat Prince Charles and his Highgrove team 7-5 in an event staged primarily to raise money for various Middle East and British charities.
Held late last month at the world's most prestigious polo venue, the Guards Polo Club, located in the elegant surroundings of Windsor Great Park, the annual event took place under the patronage of Prince Charles.
This year, the cup was dedicated in memory of the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Al-Hariri, in recognition of his many charitable activities. Al-Hariri, who was assassinated in February, was represented by his elder son, Bahaeddin, who was the event's guest of honour.
Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Britain, attended the event and took part in the prize giving and awards ceremony.
