Q: We are a group of 16-25 students from the Italian "DON BOSCO" institute in Cairo. We would like to visit Bahariya next May for one night and Farafra for two nights. We intend to go by bus, however, if you have a better way please let us know.

We would also appreciate it if you could provide us with accommodation options and prices in Bahariya and Farafra.

A: It seems the bus is your best option to get to the Bahariya and Farafra oases. You can rent a microbus from Cairo for LE250. If you are 25 travellers, you'll need two microbuses.

There are two one-star resorts in Bahariya; Alpenblick Hotel (+2 02 847 2184) and Safari Camp (+2 02 847 2770). Double rooms with bathrooms average LE90, and LE60 for rooms without bathrooms.

In Farafra, Al-Badia Hotel (+2 092 510 060) offers double rooms for about the same price.
