Chocolate-Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
4 oz self-raising sifted flour
4 oz brown sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
4 oz oats
4 oz chopped nuts (your choice)
4 oz chipped good quality chocolate
4 oz softened butter
Pinch of salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 170 degrees. In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar and golden syrup together. Process with an electric beater until smooth and pale in colour. Gradually add sifted flour with pinch of salt, oats and half the quantity of chipped chocolate. Stir to mix and combine well. Form into round patties and place on a baking tray. Sprinkle on top of each cookie some of the remaining quantity of chipped chocolate. Bake until lightly goldened (approx.15-20 minutes). Remove from oven and leave to cool on tray.
