PRESIDENT Hosni Mubarak met yesterday evening Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul- Aziz in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh. The meeting's agenda contained a host of the region's heated issues.
The two leaders tackled the recent developments in the current Palestinian situation, including the ongoing clashes between Fatah and Hamas. They also discussed means to prevent a Palestinian civil war, how to support the Palestinian Authority, ways to inject momentum into the peace process and the Arab efforts exerted to provide the Palestinians with necessary aid.
The Iranian nuclear file and means to resolve the issue through diplomatic measures also topped the talks.
Mubarak and Abdullah tackled the current situation in Sudan and Egyptian- Saudi efforts to contribute to the re- building of southern Sudan and the implementation of the peace process in Darfur.
The Egyptian-Saudi talks also discussed bilateral ties and means to boost the relationship in various fields.
