 We shall all sorely miss the soft-spoken, amiable outgoing United Nations Secretary-Ge neral Kofi Annan. He presided over a chaotic world body in the process of traumatic change. He dealt calmly with the challenges he faced all over the world. His was a most difficult period. However, he handled the various crises with political acumen and diplomacy.
