 Farewell French President Jacques Chirac. Adieu, friend of the Arabs, champion of anti-American hegemony and war-mongering, defender of the sovereignty of Lebanon, and of the rights of the hapless Palestinian people. We, Arabs, shall not forget your stance on Iraq. You stood up to Washington. Chirac is bowing out of politics with the characteristic grace and dignity that marked his presidency.
