Death of a drunk, who literally presided over the demise and break-up of the Soviet Union. He was totally oblivious to the tragic dismemberment of his country. He was notorious for his inebriated appearances at state functions. Red-faced and swaying under the influence of alcohol, he left an appalling legacy of corruption and incompetence. I illustrated him with his trademark puffy face, double chin and clownish red nose.
