The Egyptian and Danish delegations

A HIGH-LEVEL Danish delegation is currently in Cairo on a mission to enhance environmental cooperation. The delegation has visited a dairy factory that receives assistance from the Environmental Commitment Office (ECO) of the Egyptian Industrial Federation. Members of the Environmental Support Programme (ESP) of the Danish Aid Agency toured the factory, which introduced clean production techniques with the help of a subsidised loan. Textiles, food, engineering, metallurgic and chemical factories have signed up for the environmental commitment programme. They receive technical help as well as training on clean production. ECO is currently helping small and medium-sized firms reduce hazardous emissions, ration energy and improve safety and health procedures.
