 The golden voice emanates from the precious gullet of singer Marcel Khalifa. It resonates with passion, anger and revolutionary zeal. He feels for the plight of his people. He sings with his entire being. I illustrated the outburst of emotion, the genuine sincerity with which he conveys his message. He cradles the oud, this most distinguished of Arab instruments, and the symbolism of it all cannot be underestimated.
